 Conclusion

Who is the author of this small unpretentious web site?

My name is Jean-Yves. I met the Brahma Kumaris (BKs) late 1982 when there was some alignment with Jupiter. That makes 33 years that I am part of the BKs. I must say immediately that I am very, very grateful to this institution because it has been 33 years of happiness.  I am a very happy soul. The main reason is Yoga, the connection with the Light. I am primarily a yogi with many spiritual experiences.  I learned that with Bks.  It is real :  you can get in contact with God easily.

During these years, I had the chance to meet many beautiful souls in this special exceptional family. The immense majority of members of this institution are really good people, beautiful souls who put their heart to help the world.

For the last twenty years, I have been taking care
of a small meditation center in Gatineau, near Ottawa, Canada's national capital.  We have a small and great family.   I like to insist that all that is written in these few web pages are my personal opinions only and in no case the opinions of those souls around me.  I am the only one responsible for these opinions and probably the only one thinking this way.  A special soul!

I'm curious. I like to learn new things.  I like to experiment.  I'm an explorer, often a little too ahead of my time.  For example, I participated this week-end in a «new» style of workshop that we were doing 25 years ago.   But at that time, we were considered as heretics.

Usually, religious groups do not like people who think too much outside the box.  But the Brahma Kumaris have been very tolerant with me. I have been threatened of exclusion only twice.   But it was a long time ago.

Everything is relative

During my first visit to London in 1983, I saw on the wall a poster announcing the destruction in 1976 ... I found it humorous.  God, omniscient and omnipotent was not correcting what was taught there.  This knowledge, which is very interesting, cannot be regarded as absolute coming only from the Highest Source.
Probably Brahma Baba  had great influence on it.  What percentage of the knowledge comes from the Eternal One? Or from Brahma? Or from subtle Brahma?  Or from Vishnu? Or from Shankar?  Each individual has to decide for himself.  The bets are open.

This enabled me to keep my power of discernment, to choose what is logical, positive, spiritual and leave some
"strange" information aside.  That's probably why I'm still a Bk.  Often new Bks are telling me that it is nice and encouraging to see an old Bk who is happy..."

God has thoughts?

Few years ago, in a meeting with many teachers from all around the world at Gyan Sarovar, I asked a simple question to Dadi Janki: "Does God have thoughts?".   We heard laughter in the room.   Dadi, very diplomatically, responded missing the point.  So I asked exactly the same question again.  The laughter increased.  But that time Dadi answered : she told us that God does not have thoughts.  The same evening, the topic of her class was: "Does God think?".  She then explained further that God actually have no thoughts.

Interesting, interesting!  If God does have thoughts, is he able to speak?  Who teaches the BKs?

God Brahma

One day, with the French group, we had a small private class at Pandav Bhavan with Dada Anand Kishore, an old nice brother, companion of Brahma Baba for many years.  I sat down in front of him and I thought, "I would like to hear stories of Brahma Baba's life."   Dada asked us "What do you like me to talk about?"  He looked at me and continued : "Do you like to hear stories about Brahma Baba?".  Then, laughing: "Do you know that for many years, Brahma Baba was thinking that he was God? ''.    Our ears and eyes were wide open.

He explained then that for a long time, Brahma Baba thought and declared that he was God Brahma.  Dada gave us many details, such as how he asked the people around him to erase all traces of that period when he realized that there was a ''small mistake''.  He then forbade  everybody to speak about it.   "Past is past!".   More details there  http://www.moreaboutbrahmakumaris.org/385483910

This information did not surprise me.  That made me laught because this kind of belief is very common in Hindu tradition.   I still remember my first trip to India, 40 years ago, and that man informing me very seriously that I was God but that I did not know it.   I was happy to hear that and it is true : my parents did not tell me... ;-)
    Someone told me that
in India there are over a million gurus.   Probably most of them are telling that they are GodAt least we can credit Brahma Baba for having the courage to change his opinion and teachings at the risk of losing many of his followers.

    Consequently we may then ask:
- Why have we been kept ignorant of this ''interesting'' part of the story?
- Why have I never seen this knowledgefull Dada teaching in Madhuban?
- Why is it that God did not mention to Brahma Baba this little mistake earlier?
- If this error has persisted for 15-20 years, is it possible that other parts of the knowledge are not quite right ...?

     Essential and secondary

I like to use my discrimination power: I often ask myself: What is really important and what is less important or not at all?

For me, to have a good connection with the Light is essential.  In other words, for me, the main thing is my inner life, my spirituality.    Logic, qualities, values and sharing come naturally with it.

The concepts or beliefs are last as they may change.  I may believe at some point of time that an idea is true, and later realize that it is not.  It's part of the adventure of life.  If the cycle lasts for 5000 years or 5 millions years or 3600 years is not essential.     Nor that the cycle is real or a good story.  Brahma had several versions of gyan, even for important points.   «Everything is changing».

Conclusion

We can very well be part of a group and agree with only a percentage of his beliefs.  T
his freedom of thought and expression is an important part of the fundamental individual rights of our modern societies.
I have been facilitating workshops for the last 30 years.   We have open exchanges on these matters.   Everyone is entitled to his opinion even if it is very different from mine.  I'm not interested in programming parrots but in helping everyone to think and decide for himself.  Here we have happy BKs.
